What does the designer do when they come to my house?
Our highly experienced designers have been trained throughly to ensure that they can best serve and advise our growing customer base. They will arrive at the agreed date and time for your home design survey. During the visit, which lasts on average 60 minutes, (can be longer or shorter) they will complete a thorough design & layout evaluation to capture all information needed. Following the designers visit, you will get a detailed FREE no obligation quotation to consider. You will also get a design/layout of the proposed kitchen installation. That’s it. No pressure, no pushy salesman/woman, just help to get you informed of all the facts. Then you can make a decision what to do next.
What is the next stage after the free home design survey?
One of the team will call you to follow up on your enquiry. We will ensure that any questions or queries you may have are answered fully. We will be there every step of the way. If you decide to go ahead with your new kitchen installation, which we hope you do, we will then get you into our showroom to go through the range of options as detailed within your quotation. This will reflect what was discussed at the original home design survey stage. Once we finalise all the details, we will then agree an acceptance of intended works and discuss your proposed installation date at a date that suits you best.

Managing your enquiry is fairly straightforwardy. Either pop into our showroom in Strathaven or email us on info@dkbglasgow.com and then you can request any sort of changes to your enquiry, including changing the day/and or time.
When can I book and where do you cover?
Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm, we can arrange a later time if required, with notice. Weekend and bank holiday appointments are also available at subject to availability. Evening appointments can be arranged to work around you and your own work arrangements. We have full coverage across the Central Belt of Scotland, please see the map below for the specific locations we cover!
Do you offer any discounts or have sales running?
Any discounts are subject to individual arrangements with us and our suppliers at any given time. Please call to discuss any offers we may have running.
Do you do any kind of price guarantee or price match?

Can you do supply only?

A smooth render finish is a straightforward external render which is produced by rubbing the towelled surface of the render with a float or a sponge which will achieve a smooth finish.

Traditional Roughcast & Pebble Dash
Roughcasting, which is also known as harling or wet dash, is achieved by throwing a wet mix of chippings and cement against a smooth towelled topcoat of render. This is a very popular type of external rendering in Scotland and one you’ll see on many homes across the country. We have an extensive range of dry dash finishes, and we offer a wide range of colours to suit your requirement
These products have been carefully sourced from quarries around the world with an emphasis on sustainability and quality.
Pebble dashing, which is also known as dashing, delivers a rough-textured finish which is created by applying different sized pebbles to a freshly applied coat of mortar and left exposed. This gives a freedom of style and colour to the outer wall.
Modern pebble dash is a mixture of sand, cement and either pebbles or crushed stones (aggregate). Very hard-wearing, it is applied to the outside of a building to protect it from the elements.

Hairline cracking and localised discolouration on the render surface are signs of debonding and there is also a hollow sound when tapped which only gets worse as water gets in behind the render and becomes trapped. Patching or repairing the render is difficult because the pattern can never be matched properly and even with a masonry paint finish the patched areas are noticeable, again adding to the unpopularity.
As time passes, any water which has penetrated the external roughcast may well lead to damp issues within the property.
